The High School Division of the Omaha North VEX Robotics Tournament is one of the largest and most competitive VEX Robotics tournaments in the region. With 80 teams competing, it is a perfect test for many of the High School teams on handling big tournament scenarios.
This tournament qualified four teams for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship, the Excellence Award winner and the three Tournament Champion teams. The Excellence award was awarded to team 5069B (DERP.exe) from Millard North HS. The Tournament Champions were 5069B (DERP.exe) from Millard North HS, 5155A (Organized Chaos) from Cross County Robotics, and 5069D (Trojan Mustangs) from Millard North HS.

Omaha North Tournament – High School Division Awards
Excellence Award
5069B (DERP.exe) from Millard North HS were awarded the Excellence Award. This is awarded to a team that exemplifies overall excellence in building a well rounded VEX robotics program. This award also qualifies the team for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship & CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championship
Tournament Champions
Omaha North Tournament – High School Division Champions were 5069B (DERP.exe) from Millard North HS, 5155A (Organized Chaos) from Cross County Robotics, and 5069D (Trojan Mustangs) from Millard North HS. The Tournament Champions are the three team Alliance that wins the Elimination Rounds of the tournament. This award also qualifies the team for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship & CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championship.
Tournament Finalist
Omaha North Tournament – High School Division Finalists were 1028A (C:\DOS\RUN) from Brownell-Talbot, 1028S (Mandroids: Sarkeesibot) from Brownell-Talbot, and 5155D (EROR 404) from Cross County Robotics. The Tournament Finalist are the three team Alliance that ends second in the Elimination Rounds of the tournament.
Programming Skills Winner
5069B (DERP.exe) from Millard North HS recorded the top Programming Skills score at 140 points. This award also qualifies the team for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship & CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championship.
Robot Skills Winner
5069B (DERP.exe) from Millard North HS recorded the top Robot Skills score at 148 points. This award also qualifies the team for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship.
Design Award
7232J (Cyber Pirates) from Belton High School were awarded the Design Award. This is awarded to a team that demonstrates an organized and professional approach to the design process, project and time management and team organization. This award would have qualified the team for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship, if they were from Nebraska or Iowa.
Amaze Award
1028S (Mandroids: Sarkeesibot) from Brownell-Talbot were awarded the Amaze Award. This is awarded to a team that has built a competition robot that clearly demonstrates overall quality. A solid mechanical design along with demonstrated robot programming, robustness, strong performance and consistency are key attributes assessed for this award.
Build Award
1064X (OPS – Team X) from Omaha North Magnet High School were awarded the Amaze Award. This is awarded to a team that has built a well crafted and constructed robot that also shows a clear dedication to safety and attention to detail. Judges will be looking for robots that have a professional feel and quality look to them, with clear attention to detail in construction, efficient use of mechanical and electronic components, and reliability on the competition field.
Judges Award
1064A (OPS – Nebraska Nerd Herd) from Omaha North Magnet High School were awarded the Judges Award. This is awarded to a team the judges decide is deserving of special recognition. Judges consider a number of possible criteria for this award, such as team displays of special attributes, exemplary effort and perseverance at the event, and team accomplishments or endeavors throughout the season that may not fall under existing awards – but are nonetheless deserving of special recognition.

Qualification Round Results
The tournament starts with Qualification Rounds, which are used to determine how you rank during the tournament. This rank is used during alliance selection, where 3 teams are paired off with each other. Each alliance competes in the Elimination rounds, which determines the Tournament Champions and Finalists. The Tournament Champions qualify for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship.

Omaha North Tournament – High School Division
Division 1 Elimination Rounds
The Elimination Rounds are used to determine the Tournament Champions. During the Elimination Rounds, Alliances of three different teams are formed. Each leg of the Bracket is a best of three, with each team in the alliance getting the opportunity to compete.
The Tournament Champions qualify for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship.
