The second year for the Kearney VEX Robotics Tournament hosted teams from Ogallala, NE to Council Bluffs, IA. They all competed for qualifying spots at the VRC Heartland Regional Robotics Championship.
This tournament qualified four teams for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship, the Excellence Award winner and the three Tournament Champion teams. The Excellence award was awarded to team 8019J (Techno Jocks) from Lakeview High School. The Tournament Champions were 2501B (Optimus Dime) from Thomas Jefferson High School, 2501J (Full Metal Jackets) from Thomas Jefferson High School, and 8019X (Blaegger) from Lakeview High School.

Kearney VEX Robotics Tournament Awards
Excellence Award
8019J (Techno Jocks) from Lakeview High School were awarded the Excellence Award. This is awarded to a team that exemplifies overall excellence in building a well rounded VEX robotics program. This award also qualifies the team for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship & CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championship
Tournament Champions
Kearney VEX Robotics Tournament Champions were 2501B (Optimus Dime) from Thomas Jefferson High School, 2501J (Full Metal Jackets) from Thomas Jefferson High School, and 8019X (Blaegger) from Lakeview High School. The Tournament Champions are the three team Alliance that wins the Elimination Rounds of the tournament. This award also qualifies the team for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship & CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championship
Tournament Finalist
Kearney VEX Robotics Tournament Finalists were 5W (Illuminati) from Ravenna Public Schools, 5155A (Organized Chaos) from Cross County Robotics, and 5155E (Th_) from Cross County Robotics. The Tournament Finalist are the three team Alliance that ends second in the Elimination Rounds of the tournament.
Programming Skills Winner
7990A (Axtell Robotics) from Axtell Community School recorded the top Programming Skills score at 160 points. This award also qualifies the team for the CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championship
Robot Skills Winner
2501J (Full Metal Jackets) from Thomas Jefferson HS recorded the top Robot Skills score at 320 points.
Design Award
99776 (Robot C Robot Do) from Kearney High School were awarded the Design Award. This is awarded to a team that demonstrates an organized and professional approach to the design process, project and time management and team organization.
Sportsmanship Award
5155A (Organized Chaos) from Cross County Robotics were awarded the Sportsmanship Award. This is awarded to a team that has earned the respect and admiration of the volunteers and other teams at the event. The Tournament uses ballots for this award.

Qualification Round Results
The tournament starts with Qualification Rounds, which are used to determine how you rank during the tournament. This rank is used during alliance selection, where 3 teams are paired off with each other. Each alliance competes in the Elimination rounds, which determines the Tournament Champions and Finalists. The Tournament Champions qualify for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship.

Elimination Rounds
The Elimination Rounds are used to determine the Tournament Champions. During the Elimination Rounds, Alliances of three different teams are formed. Each leg of the Bracket is a best of three, with each team in the alliance getting the opportunity to compete.

Of particular note in Kearney, was a match score of 325, currently the 17th highest match score in the world. The region is playing at an extremely competitive level this season.
