VEX IQ (Elementary & MS)

The VEX IQ Challenge is an exciting opportunity for elementary and middle school students, 3rd thru 8th graders. Our youngest aspiring scientists learn valuable STEM concepts through the affordable VEX IQ Platform. Students learn valuable lessons in technology and collaboration by building their own unique robotics inventions and collaborating with other teams in each year’s challenge.

What is VEX IQ?

VEX IQ is a robotics platform designed to transform STEM learning for young students and their teachers. Students as young as 8 can jump right in and snap robots together using this intuitive, toolless platform while educators can utilize the free VEX IQ Curriculum to help teach them valuable lessons and skills that are needed in today’s changing world. It also allows educators to easily customize projects to meet the level of students’ abilities.

This year’s competition

There is a new game each season, this year’s game is called Ringmaster. Played on a 4’x8’ rectangular field, two robots work collaboratively to score points in the Teamwork Challenge. Teams also compete in the Robot Skills Challenge where one robot takes the field to score as many points as possible. These matches consist of Driving Skills Matches, which will be entirely driver controlled, and Programming Skills Matches, which will be autonomous with limited human interaction.
