How to prepare for the Next Level season

The following resources can help you prepare to provide students with an opportunity to experience the inspiration, excitement, and learning that comes from participating in the VEX IQ Challenge. You don’t have to be an engineer or have technical skills to start and organize a VEX IQ Challenge team.

Are you a new team?
If you’re a new team, you should consider applying for a new team grant from the Robotics Education and Competition Foundation. The Omaha Metro area had several teams receive the grant last year, giving them a nice start to the last season.

The Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation seeks to increase student interest and involvement in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) by engaging students in hands-on sustainable and affordable curriculum-based robotics engineering programs across the U.S. and internationally.   The REC Foundation’s vision is to change the world by inspiring young people in all communities to pursue degrees and careers in STEM fields by providing access to high-quality programs.

VEX IQ Challenge Team Grants include the VEX IQ Challenge Team Grant Bundle, which includes:

  • VEX IQ Super Kit
  • Competition Add-On Kit
  • Foundation Add-on Kit

Game Element Kit for VEX IQ Next Level

The Game Element Kits for VEX IQ Next Level are available for order for $99.  You can get all the field elements & game objects needed to build a complete VEX IQ Challenge Next Level field

Note: If you do not have a field, the field tiles will have to be purchased separately.

Remember, It’s all about collaboration
VEX IQ Challenge competitions focus on teams collaborating on the field to score the highest score they can together. The better the students understand the game, the more prepared they are to collaborate with others. The better they collaborate, the more rewarding the experience is for the team.
