The Lakeview Tournament is the first Nebraska VEX Robotics tournament in 2016. Teams got back into action after a long Christmas Break. It was the first tournament hosted by Lakeview Community Schools in cooperation with Nebraska Public Power District.
This tournament qualified four teams for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship, the Excellence Award winner and the three Tournament Champion teams. The Excellence award was awarded to team 6813B (MW M^3) from Millard West HS. The Tournament Champions were 1064A (Nebraska Nerd Herd) from Omaha North, 5155A (Organized Chaos) from Cross County Robotics, and 3141A (Irrational) from Gross Catholic HS.

Lakeview VEX Tournament Awards
Excellence Award
6813B (MW M^3) from Millard West HS were awarded the Excellence Award. This is awarded to a team that exemplifies overall excellence in building a well rounded VEX robotics program. This award also qualifies the team for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship & CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championship
Tournament Champions
Lakeview VEX Tournament Champions were 1064A (Nebraska Nerd Herd) from Omaha North, 5155A (Organized Chaos) from Cross County Robotics, and 3141A (Irrational) from Gross Catholic HS. The Tournament Champions are the three team Alliance that wins the Elimination Rounds of the tournament. This award also qualifies the team for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship & CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championship
Tournament Finalist
Lakeview VEX Tournament Finalists were 5233J (Justice League) from National Robotics Academy, Inc., 1970K (Knight Shift) from Mount Michael Benedictine HS, and 5155E (Th_) from Cross County Robotics. The Tournament Finalist are the three team Alliance that ends second in the Elimination Rounds of the tournament.
Programming Skills Winner
5233J (Justice League) from National Robotics Academy, Inc. recorded the top Programming Skills score at 140 points. This award also qualifies the team for the CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championship
Robot Skills Winner
6685R (Vexorsism) from Millard South HS recorded the top Robot Skills score at 231 points.
Design Award
1064A (Nebraska Nerd Herd) from Omaha North were awarded the Design Award. This is awarded to a team that demonstrates an organized and professional approach to the design process, project and time management and team organization.
Sportsmanship Award
5155A (Organized Chaos) from Cross County Robotics were awarded the Sportsmanship Award. This is awarded to a team that has earned the respect and admiration of the volunteers and other teams at the event. The Tournament uses ballots for this award.
Lakeview VEX Tournament Qualification Round Results
The tournament starts with Qualification Rounds, which are used to determine how you rank during the tournament. This rank is used during alliance selection, where 3 teams are paired off with each other. Each alliance competes in the Elimination rounds, which determines the Tournament Champions and Finalists. The Tournament Champions qualify for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship.

Lakeview VEX Tournament Elimination Rounds
The Elimination Rounds are used to determine the Tournament Champions. During the Elimination Rounds, Alliances of three different teams are formed. Each leg of the Bracket is a best of three, with each team in the alliance getting the opportunity to compete.
