Heartland Regional VEX Robotics Championship Qualifiers – 11-21-15

Congratulations to the following newly qualified High School teams who will be competing at the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship: 8675 (Fuzzy Wuzzy 2.0) from National Robotics Academy, 6685A (Vexecutioners) & 6685R (Vexorsism) from Millard South High School, 5155C (Oops…We’re a Team) from Cross County Robotics. These team qualified from the Cross County VEX Robotics Tournament.

Congratulations to the following newly qualified Middle School teams who will be competing at the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship: 985C (Robohawks) from Mary Our Queen School and 1073E (Computer Maniacs) from Marrs Magnet Middle School. These team qualified from the King Science Vex Robotics Tournament.

The VRC Heartland Regional Robotics Championship will host 44 of the best High School VEX Robotics teams and 32 of the best Middle School VEX Robotics teams from Iowa and Nebraska. Cross County Robotics Tournament Results

The Cross County Robotics Tournament held a 60 team tournament on November 21st.  This is the first of the large tournaments this season.  It was split into two divisions, with the each Division Champion competing for the overall Tournament champions for qualifying spots at the VRC Heartland Regional Robotics Championship.

This tournament qualified four teams for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship, the Excellence Award winner and the three Tournament Champion teams. The Excellence award was awarded to team 8675 (Fuzzy Wuzzy 2.0) from National Robotics Academy. The Tournament Champions were 6685A (Vexecutioners) & 6685R (Vexorsism) from Millard South High School and 5155C (Oops…We’re a Team) from Cross County Robotics.

King Science Robotics Tournament Results

The King Science Robotics Tournament is the second Middle School VEX Robotics tournament in Nebraska. Teams came back to the with improved designs as they competed for qualifying spots at the VRC Heartland Regional Robotics Championship.

This tournament qualified four teams for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship, the Excellence Award winner and the three Tournament Champion teams. The Excellence award was awarded to team 985C (Robohawks) from Mary Our Queen School. The Tournament Champions were 985C (Robohawks) from Mary Our Queen School, 1073A (Decoded) from Marrs Magnet Middle School, and 1073E (Computer Maniacs) from Marrs Magnet Middle School.

Southern Iowa VEX Qualifier Results

The Southern Iowa VEX Qualifier is the first Iowa VEX Robotics tournament.  Teams east of the Missouri got the chance to show off their early designs as they’re competing for qualifying spots at the VRC Heartland Regional Robotics Championship.

This tournament qualified two teams for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship, the Excellence Award winner and the three Tournament Champion teams. The Excellence award was awarded to team 3018 (Techna Pwn Robotics). The Tournament Champions were 5813B (Black Squirrels) from Abraham Lincoln High School and 3018 (Techna Pwn Robotics).

Congratulations to the following newly qualified teams who will be competing at the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship: 5069Y from Millard North HS, 1028A & 1028S from Brownell-Talblot, and 2501J from Thomas Jefferson High School, 985A from Mary Our Queen Catholic School, 1073A & 1073F from Marrs Middle School, and 1054C from McMillan Middle School.  These team qualified from the Papillion / La Vista VEX Robotics Tournament and the Beveridge Middle School VEX Robotics Tournament.

Papillion – La Vista VEX Robotics Tournament Results

The Papillion – La Vista VEX Robotics Tournament was among the earliest High School tournaments we’ve seen in Nebraska and Iowa. It gave local Nebraska and Iowa High School teams the opportunity to test out their designs early in the season.

This tournament qualified four teams for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship, the Excellence Award winner and the three Tournament Champion teams. The Excellence award was awarded to team 5069Y (Vexy Mustangs) from Millard North HS. The Tournament Champions were 1028A (C:DOSRUN) from Brownell-Talbot, 2501J (Full Metal Jackets) from Thomas Jefferson High School, and 1028S (Mandroids: Sarkeesibot) from Brownell-Talbot.

Beveridge MS VEX Robotics Tournament Results

The Beveridge MS VEX Robotics Tournament was among the earliest Middle School tournament we’ve seen in Nebraska and Iowa. It gave Nebraska Middle School teams the opportunity to test out their designs early in the season.

This tournament qualified four teams for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship, the Excellence Award winner and the three Tournament Champion teams. The Excellence award was awarded to team 985A (Enlightened Luddites) from Mary Our Queen. The Tournament Champions were 1073A (Decoded) from Marrs Magnet MS, 1073F (Ghost Riders) from Marrs Magnet MS, and 1054C (Liftin Away) from McMillan Magnet MS.

Columbus Nebraska Robotics program promotes STEM learning

Nebraska RoboticsStudents attended a Columbus Nebraska Robotics open house last week at Central Community College-Columbus. This program introduced area students to VEX Robotics competitions. The program was hosted by the college, Educational Service Unit 7 and Nebraska Public Power District.

In the Columbus, NE area, Lakeview High School in Columbus has been part of the program for a year. Other schools involved include Aurora, Nebraska and Cross County Community Schools near Stromsburg. The open house drew attendees from Kearney Catholic High School, Logan View Public Schools in Hooper and North Platte Catholic Schools.

VRC Heartland Regional Robotics Championship

Nebraska RoboticsIn an exciting development, VEX Robotics in Iowa and Nebraska will be partnering this season to hold the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship.  On February 26th & 27th, both Nebraska and Iowa will be sending their best teams to compete at Omaha North Magnet School for a chance to qualify for the World Championships. (Updated @ 11:15 am to include Middle School details).
