2016 Western Iowa Pwnament Results

The 2016 Western Iowa Pwnament is the final regular season Iowa VEX Robotics tournament. Teams took a last opportunity to qualify for the remaining spots at the VRC Heartland Regional Robotics Championship.

This tournament qualified five teams for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship, the Excellence Award winner and the three Tournament Champion teams. The High School Excellence award was awarded to team 2501J (Full Metal Jackets) from Thomas Jefferson High School. The Middle School Excellence award was awarded to team 3018V (VEXcalibur) from TechnaPwn Robotics.  The Tournament Champions were 2501J (Full Metal Jackets) from Thomas Jefferson High School, 7232 (Cyber Pirates) from Belton High School, and 2501B (Optimus Dime) from Thomas Jefferson High School.

Latest Regional Championship Qualifiers as of Jan 30th

Second weekend in a row with four VEX Robotics tournaments. We saw over 120 teams competing, with seven new teams qualifying for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship from the Kearney, Millard South, Benson High School Division and Benson Middle School Division VEX Robotics tournaments.

Congratulations to the five newly qualified High School teams who will be competing at the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship: 8019J (Techno Jocks) from Lakeview High School, 8019X (Blaegger) from Lakeview High School, 1028B (SV_Wall_Hacks) from Brownell-Talbot,  5813A  (The Kanesville Krush) from Abraham Lincoln High School, and 1049B (South Bots) from Omaha South High School.

Congratulations to the two newly qualified Middle School teams who will be competing at the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship: 1060A (OPS – 21 Bolt Street) from Buffett Magnet Middle School and 985D (Not Found in Nature) from Mary Our Queen School.

The VRC Heartland Regional Robotics Championship will host 44 of the best High School VEX Robotics teams and 32 of the best Middle School VEX Robotics teams from Iowa and Nebraska. Millard South VEX Robotics Tournament Results

Millard South High School hosted their High School Vex Robotics tournament this weekend.  This tournament qualified three teams for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship, with the three Tournament Champion teams earning that qualification.  The Tournament Champions were 5813B (The Kanesville Krush) from Abraham Lincoln HS, 1028B (SV_Wall_Hacks) from Brownell-Talbot, and 5813A  (Black Squirrels) from Abraham Lincoln HS.  There were no judged awards at this tournament.

Kearney VEX Robotics Tournament Results

The second year for the Kearney VEX Robotics Tournament hosted teams from Ogallala, NE to Council Bluffs, IA.  They all competed for qualifying spots at the VRC Heartland Regional Robotics Championship.

This tournament qualified four teams for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship, the Excellence Award winner and the three Tournament Champion teams. The Excellence award was awarded to team 8019J (Techno Jocks) from Lakeview High School. The Tournament Champions were 2501B (Optimus Dime) from Thomas Jefferson High School, 2501J (Full Metal Jackets) from Thomas Jefferson High School, and 8019X (Blaegger) from Lakeview High School.

Omaha Benson High School Tournament Results

The Omaha Benson High School Tournament is the last two division tournament for the Nebraska / Iowa VEX Robotics Nothing But Net season. One more team qualified from this tournament to the VRC Heartland Regional Robotics Championship.

This tournament qualified four teams for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship, the Excellence Award winner and the three Tournament Champion teams. The Excellence award was awarded to team 1064A (OPS – Nebraska Nerd Herd) from Omaha North HS. The Tournament Champions were 2349A (OPS – Eagle Strike) from Omaha Central High School, 1064A (OPS – Nebraska Nerd Herd) from Omaha North HS, and 1049B (OPS – South Bots) from Omaha South High School.

Gross Catholic High School VEX Robotics Results

Gross Catholic hosted their High School Vex Robotics tournament this weekend. The Excellence Award winner and the three Tournament Champion teams. The Excellence award was awarded to team 2349A (OPS – Eagle Strike) from Central High School. The Tournament Champions were 5069B (DERP.exe) from Millard North HS, 5069A (R.E.C.T) from Millard North HS, and 2349B (OPS – Purple Talon) from Central High School.

Falcon Knight High School Results

National Robotics Academy hosted the first Falcon Knight High School VEX Robotics tournament this year.

This tournament qualified four teams for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship, the Excellence Award winner and the three Tournament Champion teams. The Excellence award was awarded to team 1970K (Knight Shift) from Mount Michael HS. The Tournament Champions were 1028A (C:\DOS\RUN) from Brownell Talbot, 5233J (Justice League) from National Robotics Academy, Inc, and 1045A (OPS – Legion of Doom) from Benson High Magnet School.

Ravenna High School VEX Robotics Results

Ravenna High School hosted their High School Vex Robotics tournament this weekend. The Excellence award was awarded to team 1064A (OPS – Nebraska Nerd Herd) from Omaha North. The Tournament Champions were 1064A (OPS – Nebraska Nerd Herd) from Omaha North, 1064R (OPS – North R) from Omaha North, and 68507D (SilverHawk bot 2) from Lincoln Public Schools.

Falcon Knight Middle School Results

National Robotics Academy hosted their first Falcon Knight Middle School VEX Robotics tournament this year. One of the last middle school only tournaments in Iowa and Nebraska to qualify for the Regional Championship.  Next week’s Benson VEX Robotics Tournament is the last Middle School only VEX Robotics event that is eligible for the Regional Championship qualifications.

This tournament qualified four teams for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship, the Excellence Award winner and the three Tournament Champion teams. The Excellence award was awarded to team 1703A (OPS – Decoded) from Marrs Magnet Middle School. The Tournament Champions were 3919D (Brobots) from St. Patrick’s Catholic School, 3919C (Young Guns) from St. Patrick’s Catholic School, and 5155H (Noob Crew) from Cross County Robotics.

Latest Regional Championship Qualifiers as of Jan 16th

Another busy weekend of Vex Robotics tournaments in Nebraska and Iowa. At three tournaments with about 100 teams competing, we saw seven new teams qualify for the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship from the Lincoln, NE Public Schools VEX Robotics Tournament, Marrs Magnet Middle School Tournament and the Lincoln Internmediate Tournament in Mason City, IA. UPDATED Jan 26th @10:30 am: We had 367D entered in both High School and Middle School. We removed the mistake from the High School list, this is a Middle School Qualification.

Congratulations to the three newly qualified High School teams who will be competing at the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship: 5233J (Justice League) from National Robotics Academy, Inc2501T (Where’s Aldo?) from Thomas Jefferson HS, and 1064X (Team X) from Omaha North.

Congratulations to the four newly qualified Middle School teams who will be competing at the Heartland Regional Robotics Championship: 985F (Process of Alumination) from Mary Our Queen School, 5233M (The Shield) from National Robotics Academy1073B (OPS – Trojans) from Marrs Magnet MS, and 367D (Trial & Error) from Solon MS.
